Our approach to

Sustainability

Keeping you dry - without draining the planet

At NoRain, we know we’re not saving the world with a poncho.

But we also believe every product choice should come with responsibility.

That’s why we’re committed to making gear that lasts, minimizes waste, and considers the entire journey - from factory floor to rainy rides.

Made to Last

Cheap plastic rain capes? Not our thing. We design our ponchos to stand up to real weather, real use, and real life. That means:

Materials & Production

We use a mix of materials, always chosen for a reason:

  • Our Heavy Duty Poncho (Black) is made from 80% recycled woven nylon, recovered from old fishing nets.

  • Our Lightweight Poncho, Heavy Duty Orange, and Backpack are made from durable nylon or polyester with PU coatings - not recycled (yet), but selected for high performance, long lifespan, and weather resistance.

Production

We’re transparent about this because we believe in progress over perfection. If a material gives the product a longer life and avoids fast replacements, that’s a win in our book - even if it’s not recycled (yet).

We produce in small batches with trusted manufacturing partners, and we’re pushing toward even more traceability and responsible sourcing in the future.

Packaging

Your poncho won’t arrive in a box-within-a-box-within-a-box.

We keep our packaging simple, compact, and recyclable - and we ship in bulk to minimize our footprint where we can.

Take Care, Ride Longer

A well-treated poncho stays waterproof longer and works better. Here's how to keep it going strong:

  • Dry it off before folding and storing - this prevents mildew and extends the waterproof coating.

  • Clean it gently with cold water and mild soap if needed. No bleach, no harsh scrubbing.

  • Re-apply DWR spray (Durable Water Repellent) if water stops beading on the surface after years of use.
If you're no longer using your poncho, someone else could be

Pass it on

We've previously donated used ponchos to the Refugee Bicycle Club in Copenhagen, and organizations like the Red Cross and local shelters are often happy to pass them on to someone in need.

The Road Ahead

We’re not perfect - and we’re okay with that. But we’re not standing still either. As we grow, we’re working to:

  • Increase the share of recycled and lower-impact materials

  • Improve traceability throughout our supply chain

  • Find new ways to keep riders dry, visible, and equipped for daily biking - with less environmental cost.

Because rain shouldn’t stop you.
